Although the 24 form is slow and meditative, T'ai Chi Chuan can also be used as an effective form of self defence. We practice the application of movements from the form against an attacker. By performing these applications the student learns to understand and manage the energies and forces of the form.

As students progress, they go on to learn more advance techniques such as the various styles of pushing hands, animal forms and hand weapons.
